27/07/2017
The Jordanian-Turkish Business Council concluded a two-day meeting in Istanbul during which it discussed joint investment in the contracting, construction, renewable energy, education, water and transport sectors.

The meetings were attended by the Jordanian Businessmen Association ( JBA) and the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK).

President of the JBA Hamdi Tabba highlighted the strong ties between the private sectors from Jordan and Turkey, pointing to 40 agreements that have been singed between the two countries until today.

According to Tabba, the value of Jordan's imports from Turkey in 2015 and 2014 stood at $835 million and $907 million respectively while Jordan exports to Turkey stood at $127 million and $126 million.

Chairman of the Turkish DEIK Omer Al Fardan said Jordan is one of the most important economic partners, noting that the DEIK paid three visits to Jordan this year.

He also praised successes that have been achieved by the council since its establishment in 1994.
