Al Tabba’a and Al Shamsi praise the level of Jordanian-Emirati relations

Hamdi Al-Tabba’a, chairman of the Jordan Businessmen Association, stressed the depth of the Jordanian-Emirati relations at the level of the leaderships, governments, and people. Pointing out to the history of these relations which based on brotherhood and mutual cooperation. During his meeting with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in the Kingdom H.E Mr. Matar Al Shamsi at the Embassy's headquarters today, he stressed the need to adopt clear legislative policies that take into account the interests of the overlapping sectors and the stability of economic legislation that are directly related to investment and growth rates.
This meeting comes within the framework of the Association's efforts in enhancing Arab trade and investment relations, and dealing with the most important economic developments of interest to both countries. Al-Taba’a praised the participation of the UAE Embassy delegation in the 16th Arab Business Community Forum which was held during the period of 7-8 April in the Dead Sea under the title "Towards Integrated Arab Partnerships".
For his part, Ambassador Al Shamsi pointed to the obstacles facing the UAE investor, stressing the need for a stable legislative environment. Praising the level of relations which extends from the end of the fifties of the last century, describing these relations as deeply rooted, which was strengthened by the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Adding that he would pay more attention to attracting more Emirati investments to the Kingdom.
It is noteworthy that the UAE's investments in the Kingdom have reached about $ 16 billion in many economic sectors such as real estate, industry and Amman Stock Exchange, in addition to branches of UAE banks in Jordan and projects in the sectors of agriculture and tourism, in addition to Marsa Zayed projects and the operation of maritime services to the port Aqaba and the development of Al Karama and Carrefour. On the other hand, Jordanian investments in the UAE accounted for 17% of the total Jordanian investment abroad.
The meeting was attended by H.E Mr. Thabet Al Taher, Mr. Hussam Al-Din Al-Hudhud, Mr. Yousry Tahboub and Mr. Tariq Hijazi, Director General of the Association.
