Al-Tabbaa discusses strengthening diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation between Jordan and Pakistan

The President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, Hamdi Al-Tabbaa, received the Jordanian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Maen Khreisat, to discuss and strengthen bilateral economic relations between the two countries and discuss new opportunities for economic partnership, in the presence of the Director General of the Association, Mr. Tariq Hijazi, on Tuesday, 09/05/2023, at the Businessmen Association Jordanians.
Al-Tabbaa touched on a group of important topics related to joint cooperation and partnership between the two countries in multiple fields, including the investment and economic fields. The importance of enhancing cultural and commercial exchange between the two countries was also stressed.

Al-Tabbaa pointed out the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries, as Jordanian-Pakistani relations date back more than 60 years and include many areas of cooperation. He stressed that the historical joint relations at various levels are evidence of the depth of the bilateral relations of the two friendly countries and the continued keenness to unify political, economic and social visions, which confirms the importance of the participatory role between Jordan and Pakistan.

For his part, Khreisat expressed his deep appreciation for the association’s role in strengthening economic relations between the Kingdom and Pakistan and stressed the embassy’s readiness to support these efforts, and its commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the investment field between Jordan, including promoting investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
Khreisat expressed his optimism about the economic relations between the two countries, and that they are committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation in a number of sectors within the framework of enhancing the prospects for economic diplomacy, and he will work to strengthen economic ties and exchange experiences in order to achieve sustainable development that benefits the two countries, stressing the embassy’s readiness to provide all Facilitating the flow of investments between the two countries.

Statistics indicate that in 2022, the volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Pakistan reached approximately 39 million US dollars, compared to 2021, which amounted to approximately 53 million US dollars, while the trade balance between the two countries recorded negative indicators in the years 2022 and 2021, as it reached In 2022, approximately (-14.6) million US dollars, compared to 2021, which amounted to (-9.5) million US dollars.
