Businessmen discuss strengthening Jordanian-Kuwaiti economic relations

The Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom, Hamad Rashid Al-Marri, received the Chairman of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, Hamdi Al-Tabbaa, and members of the Board of Directors, at the embassy headquarters, to discuss the prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries at the economic and investment levels, in a way that contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the business communities on both sides.

Al-Tabbaa stressed the importance of building advanced economic cooperation that achieves common interests in light of the distinguished historical relations between Jordan and Kuwait at various levels supported and sponsored by the leaders of the two countries. He pointed out the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries, as Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations enjoy many areas of cooperation.

He also stressed that the historical joint relations at various levels are evidence of the depth of the bilateral relations of the two friendly countries and the continuous keenness to unify political, economic and social visions, which confirms the importance of the participatory role between Jordan and Kuwait. He explained that the success of efforts to strengthen and develop relations depends on joint coordination with representatives of the private sector. From both sides.

For his part, Ambassador Hamad Al-Marri stressed that the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries are built on solid and strong foundations and are witnessing progress in all fields. He said that Jordan is a stable and safe country and has a stimulating investment environment, but there are many investment opportunities in the tourism sector due to Jordan’s distinctive features. Huge opportunities in this important sector, pointing out that Kuwait is looking forward to increasing the volume of Kuwaiti investments in the Kingdom, reaching approximately $20 billion in 2023, stressing that Kuwait is one of the most prominent countries investing in Jordan. The embassy is fully prepared to facilitate any meetings between businessmen, whether in Oman or Kuwait.

The members of the Board of Directors discussed a number of issues of concern to the Jordanian business community, the most important of which is emphasizing the importance of activating the role of joint sectoral committees and intensifying private sector meetings between both sides. They also appreciated the role of His Excellency Ambassador Hamad Al-Marri in strengthening joint relations between the two countries in various fields. Emphasizing the importance of the association’s role in strengthening investment relations through its participation in a number of official and commercial visits to the State of Kuwait, through which partnerships were established in various sectors.
