The Jordanian –French Business Council between JBA and MEDEF International convened its meetings in Paris during 7-8 March 2014 . The Jordanian delegation was headed by HE Mr. Hamdi Tabba'a and included HE Dr. Hatem Halawani, the Industry &Trade Minister, Dr. Hazem Nasser Minister of Water & Irrigation , Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Petra University Dr. Adnan Badran , the Chairmen of the Jordan Chamber of Industry and Chamber of Amman Chamber of Commerce, the meeting was attended by HE Mr. Makram Al Qaisi , Jordan's Ambassador to France and major French companies some of which already present in Jordan and own successful projects . In his speech Mr. Tabba'a said that Jordan will celebrate soon the centennial anniversary of its foundation and May 25th each year marks the independence of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan , The Hashemites rule of the Country through out its history succeeded in securing Jordan as an oasis for peace and stability and freedom in a region known through out the modern history for instability and continuous conflicts , The wise leadership put Jordan on the world investment map , and transformed the Country into a hub and investment attraction in the region , no nationalization of investment was ever witnessed in Jordan , instead privatization and free market lead our economic policies .
Besides security , stability and modern economic policies , we take pride in the highly educated Jordanians , well trained manpower, and excellent infrastructure being the main elements for international companies to consider investing in Jordan . The time is never more appropriate for the French enterprises to enhance their presence in the Jordanian market taking advantage of the attractive investment climate that Jordan enjoys and seizing the opportunities in the major projects . H.E. Dr. Hatem Halawani, Minister of Industry &Trade , and HE Excellency Mr. Hazem El Nasser ,Minister of Water & Irrigation , introduced the latest political and economic developments in Jordan and the investment climate and opportunities present in the promising sectors for co- operation between the business communities in both countries , especially in the future Red-Dead Sea pipeline project which we anticipate that our French partners will consider as an excellent investment project . Also HE Dr. Adnan Badran , Former Prime Minister & President of Petra University briefed the audience on the opportunities for investments in the higher education sector & the renewable energy sector in Jordan .
Mr. Jacques R. Saade,Co- chairman of the Jordanian /French Business Council from MEDEF International , reviewed the Jordanian –French economic relations within the framework of the Joint Business Council and thanked JBA for its efforts in boosting the relations between the two countries . The meeting was concluded by bilateral meetings between the Jordanian businessmen and their French counterparts and Q&A session during which The participating Ministers answered to the enquiries of the French companies regarding the presented investment projects and the business environment in Jordan . Next day the delegation visited a French environment friendly car manufacturing company near Paris and also visited Campus Saclay , a research institution .
